Gerald Maree is the founding member and director of Maree Attorneys.
Gerald was admitted as an attorney in 2012 and obtained his LLB at the University of Johannesburg. During his article period his main focus was litigation in criminal and labour matters and has been doing litigation for a period of 4 years. The labour matters include but is not limited to Disciplinary Hearings, Conciliations, Arbitrations and Labour Court matters. In terms of Criminal litigation Gerald dealt with bail applications (after hours, opposed and unopposed), perusal of the case docket and conducting of trials in the district and regional criminal courts. Gerald is also a senior lecturer at the South African School of Paralegal Studies in the subjects of Civil Litigation, Criminal Law, Debt Collecting and Business Law (including Labour Law and Contract Law). Previous employment include Danie van Zyl Attorneys (responsible for various legal matters), Van Dyk & Theron Attorneys (responsible for land claims matters, criminal and civil litigation) and Du Toit Attorneys (Senior Labour Law attorney).
